Art Show at Bash Wine Cafe

So one of my New Year Resolutions is to say YES to everything
that comes my way in 2012 (Art Related) that is...
This actually started the day after Christmas when I decided to apply
(and get accepted into The Delray Affair), which will be held later this year...

But anyway, so I saw a Call to Artists on my Facebook feed
(Thank you Lori Practico) that was inviting artists to enter a few pieces
of their 'Love' inspired artwork to the juried show.
I knew I already had a couple of pieces that would fit right in,
and decided to email the photo's to see if they would be accepted.
They were, (yay fun!) and now I am blogging about it...lol

The Show will be held at Bash Wine Cafe (8067 W. Oakland Park Blvd, Sunrise)
and is the entire month of February and the theme is "Show Your Love".
These are the (2) pieces that will be on display...

I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings

These are the next paintings in my 'words' series..
I rediscovered a great poem by Maya Angelou and immediately knew what my next painting was going to be! I love that... When an idea and the opportunity to follow through with that idea coincide! I work a regular 9-5 job and most days idea's flow in and out of my mind, and I'm unable to really explore farther until I'm at home... Now while my job is in a creative field (thank God) I, like I just mentioned, have to usually sit on the idea and sometimes later,
I find, I am not as excited about it as I initially was.
This time I had the time to explore and this is what I went home and did..

The Delray Affair! "Today is the Day" Painting

A few days after Christmas, I sent an application to be a vendor at The Delray Affair. 2 weeks ago I got the confirmation that I, in fact, got accepted!    (Along with my friend Joann Ferrieri from "Handemonium")
The Delray Affair (is one of South Florida's oldest and largest outdoor arts, crafts and entertainment festivals and hosts an estimated 250,000 people during the 3 day event.

So needless to say, I will be really busy for the next few months
painting and screen printing to build my inventory, so I thought,
why not blog about the process..

This is the first piece in my new series..
